THE BUFFET is a hyper-realist docufictional series, 
mostly shot with an iphone 6s plus ---
a series of films which fully embraces
the smartphone as the unequivocal, universal device
for making still & moving images, recording audio
for the regular user, by the everyday person,
using basic mobile technologies.



as a multi-channel installation, THE BUFFET
focuses on THE MEAL as a social space
& the quintessential, hyper-consumerist venue
for quenching that insatiable, impulsive, id-based
urge to eat; eating, for the sake of eating.



THE BUFFET also draws from Dogme 95 particularly
the preference for hyper-realist, handheld shots
& use of the setting's "natural light "
over any sort of lighting at all, if any.

content-wise, THE BUFFET  is comprised
of an interview with a buffet restaurant owner
a dialogue about proper nan & curry consumption,
selfie-confessions in the midst of a very early
morning french breakfast, pre-dinner tips on
how to simultaneously binge watch netflix shows,
paint toe nails, smoke hash & marijuana joints
 ( while taking a warm bath ) and mired
in an internal monologue with yourself...

... all while dining at   THE BUFFET
